Lester Brennum

McFarland - Lester Glen Brennum, age 86, of McFarland, passed away at Agrace HospiceCare on March 30, 2015. He was born on April 17, 1928, the son of Milo and Mary (McBoyle) Brennum. Lester married Jennivie Sugden on November 25, 1954.

Lester graduated from Mineral Point High in 1946. He served as a Sergeant in the 2nd armored cavalry (US Con) Augsburg HQ 7th Army in Stuttgart. After time in the service, Lester worked for Oscar Mayer until his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, carpentry work, and time with his friends at American Legion Post 534 in McFarland.

He is survived by his wife Jennivie Sugden; daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Saunders, Karen (Pedro) Peña, Karla Blumer, and stepdaughter Nicole Parker; sister, Nelda Soehnlein; seven grandchildren, Shane (Andrea), Matthew (Jessica), Sara (Scott), Maria (Erik), Pedro Jr., Chris, and Taquira; and twelve great-grandchildren, Michael, Darwin, Mileva, Rossalyn, Linnie, Manami, Connor, Alexandria, Isis, Seth, Caleb, and Jaden; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (Weber); his parents, Mary and Milo Brennum; his brothers, Arthur, Vilas, and Milan; his sisters, Donna, Clarice, and Delores; and granddaughter Danielle.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at McFarland American Legion Post 534, 4911 Burma Rd, McFarland. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. and a luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Lester will be laid to rest at the East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville at 2:30 p.m.

A special thank you to all who helped our father on his journey, especially Agrace for the care and respect they showed. Also, thanks go to his very special friends Edward (Skip) Lewis and Edward Meier. We will miss him!
