Madison - LeRoy J. Seely, age 86, passed away on April 18, 2012 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.
LeRoy was born on March 21, 1926, the son of Cecil and Josephine (Smithback) Seely. He married Roberta "Bobbie" Church on July 8, 1961 in Madison. LeRoy served his country in the Army during WWII and also participated in the post war Japan occupation.
LeRoy worked for many years at the Gardner Bakery and later retired from the maintenance department for the Madison board of education. LeRoy enjoyed camping with Bobbie on the weekends at Indian Trails in Pardeeville, going to casinos and watching the Packers, Nascar and boxing. LeRoy was also a lifetime member of the VFW #8483.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" Seely; 2 children, Jerry (Vicky) Seely and Chris Hinz; 3 grandchildren, Phillip (Casey) Seely, Jennifer (Jeff) Roberts and Rachel Turnham; 3 step grandchildren, Jeff Borreson, Wendy (Todd) Brown and Chris (Molly) Borreson; 9 great grandchildren and 1 one the way; 6 step great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Olson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Leon Seely, Art, Chet, Lloyd and Clarence Julseth.
Funeral services will be held at Bashford United Methodist Church, 329 North Street, Madison on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Fran Deaner will officiate. A visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will conclude at Highland Memory Gardens.
