Leota Lucht

July 18, 1928 — August 2, 2014

MADISON - Leota M. Lucht, age 86, died Saturday, August 2nd at Oakwood Village West in Madison. She was born on July 18, 2928 to Peter and Christiana Lucht in LaValle, WI. After completing high school in Wonewoc, Wi she was on her way to an exciting educational and adventurous career with Stouffer Corporation. She began as a "Stouffer girl" with the intention of going to college. She stayed with the company from 1952 to 1992. Seota worked her way into management with Stouffer's, first in restaurants and then in hotels. Leota was always traveling to open restaurants including in New York City and Chicago. She then went into hotels - opening numerous hotels as Opening Director of Housekeeping. In 1992 Leota returned from St. Louis, MO to Madison, WI to be closer to family.
Leota was very generous with her time, doing a lot of volunteer work for the Red Cross, Ronald MacDonald House, Bethesda House of Thrift, West Madison Senior Center, and numerous places at Oakwood. Leota traveled to many different places with family and with others. She traveled to all 50 states, Europe, Canada, South America, Australia, Antarctica, etc.
She is survived by her three sister, Renata Lucht, Louise (Herman) Brandenburg, and Marjory Preston; two brothers, William (Helen) Lucht, and John Lucht; as well as 6 nieces and 6 nephews. Leota was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Trudy Lucht; two brothers, Edward and Leo Lucht; and 2 sisters in law, Sarah and Patricia Lucht.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, August 29th at The Resurrection Chapel at Oakwood Village West, 6205 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI 53705 with Pastor Martha Nack presiding. A visitation will be held from 11:30 am until time of service. Inurnment will be at Noon, Sunday, August 31 at St. Paul's Cemetery, Big Creek, LaValle, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, E4198 St. Paul Rd., LaValle, WI 53941 or to Oakwood Foundation, 6201 Mineral Point Rd., Madison, WI 53705 would be appreciated.
