Leonard Duane Monday, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He was born on April 5, 1933, the son of William and Olena (Fenne) Monday. On June 6, 1985, he married the love of his life, Sharon Thompson, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Leonard served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. A dedicated and hardworking man, Leonard spent over 40 years as a loyal employee at Oscar Mayer. Beyond his career, his true passion lay in service to his community and fellow Veterans. He was a proud member of the local Eagles Club for 52 years, serving in various leadership roles including Local President, and culminating in his tenure as the Wisconsin State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles from 2023 to 2024. Through his leadership, Leonard spearheaded countless fundraising initiatives, generously supporting the Badger Honor Flight and Patriots K9s of Wisconsin, an organization dedicated to providing trained service dogs to disabled veterans.

Leonard is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Monday; children, Cary Croissant, Will Monday, Doug (Patty) Monday, Jeff Rolli, Rick (Rhonda) Rolli, Tammy (Mark) Bloss, Connie (Dave) Pounders, Dawn (Travis) Gehrett, Darcy (John) Crook, and Danny (Stacy) Rolli; 28 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Bollig; god daughter Linda Harmon; son-in-law Paul Croissant; along with extended family and a wide circle of cherished friends and club brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olena Monday; first wife Gale Monday; two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Eagles Club, 2109 Bartillon Dr., Madison, WI 53704. Visitation will take place at the Eagles Club on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Madison, where full Military Honors will be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Leonard’s memory may be made to Patriot K9s of Wisconsin or the Eagles Club of Madison.
