Madison - Leonard Jacobs left the earthly world on Sunday, October 16th, 2016 under the acorn moon with his loving family at his bedside. He was a New Year's baby born to John Jacobs and Mabel Lien along the shores of cold and wintry Lake Superior. He and his wife Barbara were married in the heart of their beloved Wisconsin before moving south to share their life together and raise their family in Madison. Len was a lifelong advocate for public education and teachers because every child deserves a great school. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Kelly, Paula and Jennifer; his sons-in-law David and Matt; his cherished granddaughters, Grace and Lily; and his brothers, Gerald and Richard.
There will be a private family gathering. Memorials may be made to The Nature Conservancy, Wisconsin chapter.
"Full Moon" by Grace: Looking up in the night sky, I see the hazy gleam of a crystal ball. The perfect roundness of the moon shines so brightly through the dark, cold night. Billions of stars surround the sparkling gem. The moon far away shimmers on the tree tops. I am alone but a peaceful silence makes the glittering moon so comforting. I realize that as Earth rotates, someone else gets to enjoy that glistening full moon. The same moon is shining for other people this very moment. I'm not alone anymore.
