Lenore Stai

Stoughton - Lenore Stai, age 96 passed away peacefully on December 4th at Skaalen Home. She was born on August 21, 1921. Daughter of George and Lena (Cleven) Lunde. She had 4 siblings, and was raised at the family farm in Pleasant Springs Township. She was united in marriage to Arnold Stai on January 21, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they resided in Stoughton and raised 4 daughters.

Lenore was a member of First Lutheran Church and was active in Circle 21 for many years. She occasionally traveled with the Stoughton Weekenders and enjoyed each trip, with many good memories. Lenore also traveled to see her daughters and family in Arizona and South Carolina on many occasions. She loved her family, and always liked to share her pictures with everyone.

She is survived by her children, Helen (Ronald) Leikness, Jeanne (Duane) Kirk, Barbara Maly, and Diane (John) Drenk. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold, brothers Olaf, Aaron, and Alvin Lunde, sister Ruth Teigen, and son in law Larry Maly.
