Lavonne Chase

Madison - LaVonne Catherine (Gritzmacher) Chase passed away on Monday, January 11th after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, the same hospital where she was born 89 years earlier on April 12, 1926. She lived most of her life in Sun Prairie and Madison and was primarily a homemaker who loved being a mother of five children. She is survived by sister Virginia (Robert) Skavlen, Madison and brother William Gritzmacher, Sun Prairie, four children, son Paul (Mary Weck) Chase, Galena, Illinois, daughters Kathy (John) Keller, Green Bay, Joy (Scott Page) Chase, Madison and Julie Chase, Madison, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Leo (Happy) and Clara Gritzmacher, brother Gerald Gritzmacher and daughter Cheryl Elizabeth (Chase) Boggs.
A private family celebration of her life will be held in the spring. Donations can be made in her name to Wisconsin Public Radio.
