LaVeta M. Baumgartner

LaVeta M. (Staab) Baumgartner, age 96, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg.   She was born in Baraboo on May 20, 1913, a daughter of Edward and Melvina (Moulton) Staab.   Edward died before LaVeta was born, and she was raised by her mother and step father, James McGrath.   LaVeta was united in marriage to Fred Baumgartner in Madison in 1941.   She enjoyed eating out and traveling with her friends, especially Doris and Linda.   She also enjoyed going the meetings and dinners of the Rock County Bee Association with her husband Fred.   She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Webb) Winn; 2 grandsons, Bryan (Andrea) Winn and Michael (Michelle) Winn; 10 grandchildren, James, William, Anthony, Carmen, Webb Paul, Zak, Nate, Matt, Ethan and Obadiah; and 2 great great grandchildren, Lilyana and Kayana.   She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, and by a brother, Fred Staab.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in McFarland, with Sr. Georgeann Roudebush officiating.   Burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo will follow a reception at the McFarland American Legion Hall.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.   Special thanks to HospiceCare, home care givers, Marcy, Megan, Terry and Linda.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc.    Olson-Holzhuter-Cress 5801 Hwy 51 McFarland 608-838-0655
