Laverna Hoey

Sun Prairie- LaVerna P. (Wilson) Hoey, age 83, passed away on April 27, 2012, at her home surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on October 7, 1928 in Fairmont, MN the daughter of John & Ann (Jurgerson) Staley. LaVerna was raised in Waterloo, IA. where she met her first husband Robert A. Wilson. After Robert's death, she was united in marriage to Otis Hoey in 1986 and he passed away in 2002. She was a member of the Joplin Full Gospel Church, Joplin, MO. LaVerna is survived by her children, Rev. Roger Wilson, Neosho, MO, Dennis Wilson, Sun Prairie, Kevin Wilson, North Carolina, Richard Wilson, Ozark, MO and David Wilson, Ft. Madison, IA; sisters, LaVae Hippin and Eldora O' Day both of Cedar Rapids, IA; 9 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 7 great-grandsons and 1 great-great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4 bothers and 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Salvation Army. She loved her Lord Jesus very, very much. She will be missed by all who knew her. We love and miss you Mom very much.
