Laura M. Roehlk

Laura M. Roehlk, age 87, died peacefully at her home in Fitchburg, WI, on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009. She was born on Nov. 27, 1921, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Fern and Jesse Sharp.  She grew up in Elkader, Iowa.  She graduated from Coe College with a B.A. in economics.  She enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  She spent most of her adult life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, working for Rockwell-Collins as an industrial engineer. She is survived by her 2 children, Richard Roehlk and Susan Roehlk (John Hayward),  1 grandson, Sam Bolton, 3 step-grandchildren, Stacey Zudock (Jeff Zudock), Jeff Hayward (Melanie Hayward),  Jill Hayward (Jayson Preston) and 4 great step-children.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Roehlk. A gravesite memorial service will be held sometime in the spring in Elkader, Iowa.
