Kevin L. Janisch

Kevin Lee Janisch (40) of Edgerton, Wisconsin went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023 following a bravely fought battle with cancer. His wife and his parents were by his side. He was born on June 8, 1982 in Aurora, Illinois to Don and Connie Janisch.

From a young age, Kevin enjoyed learning about and knowing Christ. As he grew, his knowledge of and faith in his Lord Jesus flourished. He always strived to glorify God through his life.

Kevin started playing the cello in 4th grade and soon after joined the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, where he was a member through his high school years. He also enjoyed playing percussion, upright and electric bass, piano, and French horn.

In high school, Kevin met Thea Stanek in orchestra class where she played violin, and they immediately became close friends. They later began dating, and after a few years married on November 3, 2002. They both enjoyed studying, performing, and teaching music and played together in various orchestral and chamber ensembles, and on the worship team at church. They also loved to travel together and enjoyed a mutual interest in various activities and hobbies. These included apologetics, model railroading, astronomy and other sciences, history, and genealogy.

Kevin was also a classic car enthusiast. He and Thea loved to attend and participate in car shows together. Kevin enjoyed and took great pride in the 1973 Camaro that he had restored, and the 1990 Cadillac given to him as a graduation present from his Granddad and Grandma Shamblin. He also took very good care of the 1966 Mustang that Thea acquired from her grandfather, whom Kevin was very close to.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Ida Janisch, Richard Shamblin, and James Hastings, as well as his aunt Karen (Janisch) Young. He is survived by his wife, Thea of Edgerton, parents Don and Connie Janisch of Stoughton, brother Brian (Jackie) Janisch and nieces Hanna and Leah Janisch of Edgerton, sister Kayla Janisch of Stoughton, and grandma Edith Shamblin of Stoughton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
