In Loving Memory

Kenneth C. "Chopper" Wenger, age 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2015, with his wife by his bedside. He was born May 10, 1954 in Monroe, WI, the son of Carlo and Ruth (Schoechert) Wenger. He graduated in 1972 from Waterloo High School, where he was very active in football, wrestling and track. During his senior year, he won the National W Club Award. After graduation, Kenneth served in the Navy four years and in the Naval Reserves for nine years achieving the rank of Petty Officer, Second Class. On June 14, 1975, Kenneth was united in marriage to Cheryl Heitz in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Together they raised two children. Kenneth worked for McKay Nursery and Perry Printing. Kenneth was extremely artistic and had a gift for art which was seen in his landscaping. He loved nature, horticulture and hunting. He also loved being a fan of the Packers and Badgers. Kenneth was a proud member of the American Legion in Waterloo.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Cheryl of 39 years; children Kenneth Jr. and Rachel (Justin) Snethen; and grandson Andrew ; brother John (Nancy) Wenger; nephews John Robert, Christopher and niece Jessica. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00am, with Pastor Robert Kosky officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00am until the time of services. Private cemetery services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Pittsville, Wisconsin.

Kenneth's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the cardiac care unit at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital.
