Denver, Colorado / Madison, Wisconsin - Kelly K. (nee Pittenger) Sullivan, age 56 passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2015. Kelly passed away after complications from a lung transplant, following a long battle with heart and lung disease.
Kelly was born on February 13, 1959 in Denver, Co, but moved to Madison with her parents where she lived from 1960 to 1979. She attended St Dennis Catholic School and graduated from Queen of Apostles High School. After high school, she attended MATC and began working for IBM. Her position with IBM would lead her to several years in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then back to Denver, Colorado where she was born. Kelly held a variety of office and service positions over the years, but in more recent years found great enjoyment working with the elderly and disabled as in in-home care provider. She will forever be remembered for her warm, outgoing personality, her witty Irish humor and her artistic abilities. She was the ultimate optimist and her strength and perseverance showed through the many challenges she faced in her life.
She is survived by her children, Tim and Grace Sullivan of Colorado; her mother, Kathleen Kane; sisters, Katy Blumenstein, Kristy (Bill) Kluender and Kerry Smith; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Pittenger; her maternal grandparents, William and Mary Grace Kane; and paternal grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Pittenger.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A private mass will be held in Kelly's memory at Holy Family Parish in LaValle, Wisconsin. The family is grateful to the many friends that supported Kelly through her final and most difficult years, especially her good friend Chris Schillereff, who was always there for her.
