Kay Bailey

Kay B. Bailey, age 71 of Sun Prairie, WI passed away on April 28, 2017 at The Willows Nursing Home. Kay was born on May 30th 1945 in Platteville, WI the daughter of Floyd Grunewald and Viola (Voigts) Grunewald.

Kay was a 1963 graduate of Prairie Du Sac High School. For many years, she worked for The Wisconsin Gas Company in Sun Prairie in a variety of positions, most recently as a home energy auditor. In her retirement, she served on the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry board and volunteered her cooking and sewing expertise at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed rec league bowling, trap shooting at NBSC, fishing trips to Canada, and traveling. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and preparing and presenting delicious and elaborate family dinners.

She is survived by her daughter Angela (Jon) Schmidt of Sun Prairie, son Pete (Jennifer) Boll of Cottage Grove, step-daughters Dawn (Randy) Lawson of Oconomowoc, and Pam Briggs (Tom Hehn) of Lebanon TN; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Krystina), Krista (Jack), Tyler, Aaron, Kevin, Matthew, Ryan, and Eric.
She is also survived by a sister Sharon Karrmann of Dubuque, IA, and brothers Bill (Kim Diehl) Grunewald of Sauk City and Dan (Patricia) Grunewald of Prairie du Sac; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and the family of Perry Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Benjamin Schmidt, husbands Martin Bailey and Perry Bailey, and brother-in-law, Marc E. Karrmann.

Funeral services will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr. Sun Prairie, WI 53590 at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Burial will be in the Sun Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
