Kathryn Smith

FITCHBURG- Kathryn E. Smith, age 94, of Madison, WI passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017. She spent her last few days at Agrace Hospice Care Center. She was born on January 29, 1923. Kay was a kind and supportive mother and a friend to everyone she met. She grew up in Portage Wisconsin, moving to Madison when she was 18. Kay attended secretarial school, and later married the love of her life Donald W. (Smitty) Smith on June 10, 1950. She worked for many years in the Meriter Hospital pharmacy. She is preceded in death by her husband Don, and sister and brother-in-law Doris and Louis Conlon. She is survived by her two children Marsha (John) Gahagan and Greg (Susan Otterson) Smith. She loved her four grandchildren, Kevin (Lynn) Gahagan, Bridget (Derek) Jelle, and Keely and Emma Smith. She also cherished her great-grandchildren Isla, Colin, and Brooklyn. Kay was deeply loved and will be missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday August 21, 2017 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, a visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Monday.
