Madison - Kathryn Holden went home to be with the Lord on May 20th, 2018. She was born in Idaho Fall, Idaho on December 31st, 1929, to Lucy Pierce Holden and Attorney James Wesley Holden. Kathryn Holden served in the office of the First Baptist Church of Madison for many years, and assisted Janet Hoopes and Elizabeth Jane Barber at Janet's Antiques, 3800 University Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin.
Kathryn is survived by her sister, Janet Hoopes; her niece, Elizabeth Jane Barber (Jack Barber); nephews, Wesley Hoopes (Amanda Hoopes), and Thomas Hoopes; and by grandnieces and grandnephews, Genevieve Hoopes, John Hoopes (Hailly Hoopes), William Hoopes, Daniel Hoopes and Sarah Hoopes.
Kathryn enjoyed singing in the church choir, being with family and the dogs, working in the Antique Shop and living at Girlies Manor in Mount Horeb. She will be greatly missed for her steadfastness, faith, kindness and wry sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
