Kathryn Cuva

MADISON - Kathryn G. Cuva, age 95, passed on to another stage of her life journey on Wednesday February 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Care Center. Born Kathryn Steiner on March 31, 1919 in Plymouth, WI the daughter of John and Ella Steiner, she married Carmel "Blackie" Cuva on May 31, 1942 in Plymouth. He died in 1991. Upon his death she moved to Madison to be near her sons John and Frank and their families.
She was employed as a nurse at the Plymouth Hospital for 45 years. Since 1991 she was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and choir and their Hospice Care group, West Side Senior Coalition Center, PLATO Group, Reminiscence Writing Classes, and as a docent at the State Historical Museum.
Her greatest joys in life were her two granddaughters and their activities, travel, theater, continuing education, and time spent with her many friends and neighbors.
Kathryn is survived by her 2 sons: John (Margaret) Cuva and Frank Cuva (Rosemary Zurlo-Cuva) and her two granddaughters, Kathryn Zurlo-Cuva (Jeremy Kraft) and Gina Cuva, and one great grandson July Cuva Kraft.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Elroy Steiner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday February 23, 2015 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr. Madison, with Fr. Bill Nolan presiding.
A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church on Monday. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Plymouth, WI.
