Kathleen Stoikes

October 5, 1943 — June 22, 2025

Fitchburg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Kathleen Stoikes, who left us peacefully at home on June 22, 2025, at the age of 81, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born October 5, 1943, in Dodgeville WI, the daughter of Margaret and Clemon Henderson. She married Ronald Stoikes on June 27,1964 in Madison at Midvale Lutheran Church. They would have celebrated 61 years together on Friday.

Kathy was a woman of strength, grace and boundless love. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself. Her warmth, kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. Kathy enjoyed knitting, reading, playing euchre and visiting with friends. She also loved spending time hiking, snowmobiling, ATV riding and kayaking at the family cabin in Fifield, WI. She also spent many seasons enjoying the beauty and serenity of Montana.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Ron; son Brian (Joan) Stoikes, daughter Pamela Wittenwyler and beloved grandchildren, Sam, Zoe, Tatum and Max Wittenwyler and Elizabeth and Claire Stoikes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Clemon Henderson; grandmother, Daisy Reese who raised her after the death of her young mother; stepmother Amy Henderson and twin grandsons, Mark and Jack Wittenwyler.

Throughout her life, Kathy showed remarkable resilience and positivity, even during her illness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her compassion, generosity and the love she gave so freely. We take comfort in knowing Kathy is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have passed before her and watching over us all. A special thanks to the dedicated staff at Interim Hospice who helped us through this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26th at All Saints Lutheran Church, 2951 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, WI at 11:00a.m. Visitation will be one hour before the service and refreshments will be served following the service. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be gifted in Kathy’s name to the All Saints Lutheran Church in Fitchburg.
