MADISON - Kathleen "Kay" (Potter) Muehl, age 99, died on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Oakwood Prairie Ridge. She was born in Madison on Nov. 11, 1917, the daughter of Ellis and Nita Potter. Kathleen graduated from West High School and the University of Wisconsin with honors in Music Education. She taught for two years in Columbus. On Nov. 7, 1941, she married William H. Muehl from Madison.
Mom loved music and sang in choir for 50 years. She played flute and recorder and enjoyed being a member of Madison Civic Symphony, Schubert and Allegro Clubs, and was a founding member of the Covenant Recorder Consort. She conducted many adult and children's choirs.
Kathleen is survived by her five children, William (Pat), James (Jackie), Frances Hyde, David (Betsy), and Alice (Duane) Sundt; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in March of 1987; her sister, Eleanor Rifleman; and her brother, James Potter.
A memorial service will be held at BADGER FARMS, 1682 Co. Rd. BB, Deerfield, on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.
