Kathleen Bartosch

Sun Prairie - Kathleen E. "Kathy" Bartosch, age 70, passed away peacefully in God's arms on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison with family by her side. Kathy was born on February 9, 1945 in Madison, the daughter of Archie and Martha (Watson) Hawley. She graduated from Mazomanie High School. Her first job was with an insurance company, followed by the Dane County Register of Deeds office prior to raising her family. She also worked seasonally at the Wisconsin Cheeseman when the boys were older.

Kathy and her husband, Wayne, were married on May 3, 1975 in Mazomanie. They enjoyed 27 years of marriage before Wayne's unexpected death. Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved baking, canning, gardening, flowers, knitting, crocheting, QVC, reading, thrift shopping, and her cats. The best days of her life besides marrying and having two sons were the births of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Brian (Erin) of New Glarus and Bill (Stacey) of Morrisonville; her 4 special grandchildren, Dakohta, Kate, Kadence and Evan; niece, Lisa McElroy and brother-in-law, Joe Hagmeier of Las Vegas; other relatives and longtime girlfriends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and older sister Dolores "Dee" Hagmeier.

A funeral service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private burial will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Kathy's love of cats, donations may be made to the Dane County Humane Society.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Care Center and St. Mary's Hospital for their tender loving care over the past 4 months.
