Katherine Moore

MADISON - Katherine D. "Kay" Moore, age 89, passed away peacefully at Oakwood West. She was born July 29, 1926 in Racine to the late Fred and Mary (Hulita) Sawisky. Kay was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where she was the church secretary and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also one of the original church basement ladies, often helping out with church functions and luncheons.
Kay is survived by her 6 children, Jan Moore, Bill Moore, Tim (Margie) Moore, Ken (Debbie) Moore, Kevin (Bonnie) Moore and Keith (Laura) Diaz-Moore. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, former husband Donovan, grandson Mark Moore and a brother Fred Sawisky Jr.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday Jan. 25, 2016 at MOUNT OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 110 N. Whitney Way, Madison with Rev. Jason Zobel presiding. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. A visitation will be from 10:00 Am until the time of the service at the church on Monday.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Church, Mt. Olive Church L.W.M.L. (Lutheran Women Missionary League), Oakwood Village or Valparaiso Guild.
