Katherine "Kay" Goetz, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Kay was born in Chisolm, MN and was the oldest of four children. After high school, she moved to Manitowoc, WI, where she met the love of of her life, William "Bill" Goetz. Kay and Bill married on July 25, 1942 and were inseparable for sixty two years, until Bill's death in 2004. Upon Bill's return from the European Theater after World War II, the couple lived together in Madison, Wisconsin for over fifty years.

Kay was a long-term employee of the State of Wisconsin but considered her primary role in life to be that of faithful wife and loving mother to her three children, Bill, Jim, and Kathleen. Kay dedicated her life to helping to meet the needs of her family, which came to include her children's spouses, her grandchildren, and her great grandchild. Her Catholic faith was also a cornerstone in Kay's life and she was an active and long-term member of the Our Lady Queen of Peace parish in Madison.

Kay is survived and will be greatly missed by her sisters, Irene Kumbalek, Sharon Komisar, and Karen Cavanough; her children, Bill Goetz, Jim Goetz, and Kathleen Crain; her son-in-law, Shawn Crain; her daughters-in-law, Melanie Goetz and Jan Goetz; her grandchildren Jessica (Mitch) Coleman, Rebecca (Richard) Hopkins, Erin Goetz, Kelsey Goetz, Meghan (Tawseef Talukdar) Crain, Dylan Crain, and Liam Crain; and her great grandchild Emily Coleman.

Memorials are preferred in Kay's name to Angels Grace Hospice, (W359N7430 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066), whose entire staff ensured that Kay's final days were comfortable and dignified, both for Kay and her family.
