Katharina Tschoeke

SUN PRAIRIE - Katharina Tschoeke (n�e Wiume), age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Oakwood Health & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family.

She was born on May 20, 1931, in Yugoslavia, to Franz and Barbara (Merle) Wiume. She and her mother, Barbara, immigrated to the United States in 1949 and made their home in Chicago, IL where Katharina met and married Walter Tschoeke in 1953. Together they worked hard to build a good life for their family. They purchased the Evergreen Motel in Lake Delton, WI, in 1969 which they operated during the summers. In 1972 they moved their family to operate the motel full time. After Walter's untimely death in 1973, Katharina continued to operate the motel with her children until she sold the business in 1992 and retired to Sun Prairie, WI.

Katharina is survived by her children, Roland (Nancy) Tschoeke of Middleton, WI; Romy (Tschoeke) Snyder of Sun Prairie, WI; and Richard (Julie) Tschoeke of Ashwaubenon, WI; and nine grandchildren, Mathew Snyder of Sun Prairie, WI; Katrina (fianc� Jesse Melichar) Tschoeke of Grapevine, TX; Heidi Tschoeke of Coralville, IA; Alexandra Snyder of Seattle, WA; Eric and Stefanie Tschoeke of Middleton, WI; and Nicholas, Benjamin and Bradley Tschoeke of Ashwaubenon, WI.

Katharina was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Greta Mohr, Magdelena Bell and Liesl Prantl, and her husband Walter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Dr., Sun Prairie on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Monsignor Terrence Connors officiating. A visitation will be held at church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells at 1:30 p.m.
