Karen Ledvina-Carrier

MADISON- Karen Ann Ledvina Carrier, age 63 of Madison, passed away at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday December 21, 2012. She was born on December 30, 1948 in Kewaunee, Wisconsin the daughter of Anton and Martha Ledvina. She married John Lynn Carrier on August 13, 1983. Karen graduated from UW Madison in 1972 with a degree in social work. She was a social worker at Four Winds Manor Nursing Home in Verona for eighteen years. Karen also worked at Kohl's, Boston Store and JCPenny before retiring in March of 2012. She loved to volunteer and enjoy time with her family and friends. She loved to cook and have get togethers at her home. She was always there to help others in their time of need. She was a loving wife of 29 years and a friend to everyone. Karen enjoyed visiting Door County and Devil's Lake State Park with her family.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. Karen is survived by her husband, John; her mother, Martha Ledvina of Green Bay; two brothers, Bob (Carol) and Tony (Gladys) Ledvina both of Green Bay; and a sister, Janet Salentine of Luxemburg; three stepchildren, Tammy of LaCrosse, Cindy (Mike) of Brown Mills, NJ, and Rick (Candace) of Madison; three step grandchildren Chris (Brittany) Davis of Chesterfield, MI, Nick (Mary) Davis of Ludowici, GA, Josie Sommerfield of DeForest; two step great grandchildren, Christian and Whitney Davis; along 13 nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Anton M. Ledvina and step granddaughter Tiffany Ann Carrier.

A prayer service will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Thursday December 27, 2012, at 1:00 pm. with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler and Reverend Brent Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Park. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Wednesday, December 26, 2011 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and at church on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until time of the prayer service.
