MADISON- K. Don Lindsay, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016 at Artisan Senior Living after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Don was born on October 9th, 1931 in Boscobel, WI. He was the son of Ervin G. and Hilda L. (Freitag) Lindsay. Don graduated from Hillsboro High School in the class of 1950. He graduated from the U.W. School of Pharmacy in 1954. Upon graduation, Don entered the US Army and served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Medical Services Corp. Upon finishing his two year service commitment, Don returned to Madison to finish his pharmacy internship with Rennebohm Drug Stores, and was employed as a Pharmacist and store manager for nine years. He then joined the Pharmacy staff at U.W. Hospital and participated in development of special projects for patient care and computerization for medication dispensing. Upon leaving U.W. Hospital, Don worked as an Assistant to the Dean of Pharmacy School working with students in the new Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.

Memberships in professional societies include American Pharmaceutical Association, American Institute of History of Pharmacy, American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Wisconsin Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin, and was past President of The School of Pharmacy Alumni Association and Dan County Pharmaceutical Society. Don loved to travel and attended many conventions both nationally and internationally.

Don belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, Knights Templar, and Zor Shrine.

Survivors include a brother Philip (Sharon) of Madison, WI, and a nephew Steven (Susan) of Austin, TX. Don was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Rd, Madison on Tuesday, June 28th, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Don will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Don was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and volunteer. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5701 Raymond Rd. Madison, WI 53711 or Children's Dyslexia Center, 301 Wisconsin Ave. Madison, WI 53703.

The family would like to thank the staff of Artisan Senior Living Memory Care for their wonderful care of Don over the last 8.5 years, with special thanks to Cecelia and Leroy.
