June A Nichols

June A. Nichols, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2023.  She was born on October 27, 1930, to Carl and Emma (Rundhaug) Olson. June graduated from Mt. Horeb High School.  After high school June attended college for some time before moving into various clerical and seamstress positions.  June eventually began working at American Family Insurance, where she worked from 1975 until her retirement in 1993.  She was united in marriage to the late Victor R. Nichols at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on May 28, 1979, in Madison, WI.  June enjoyed spending time working puzzles and watching hallmark movies as well as spending time with her family.  June was known by her family and friends as a very sweet and kind-hearted soul with a lovable sassy side.

June is survived by her children Jane Reinhardt and Fred Kitchen, Vickie (Edward) Sanford, David Nichols, Roy Nichols, Maria (James) Coffey. Grandchildren Autumn Sanford, Valerie Kutka, Edward Sanford, Nathan Sanford, Amanda Coffey, Monica Coffey, Jessica Coffey. Great grandchildren Michael, Bryce, Alexis, Gabby, Joseph, Nathan, Dillan and Hudson.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband William Kitchen, brother Melvin Olson, stepdaughter Michelle Nichols and great-grandson Victor Sanford.

A funeral service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 734 Holy Cross Way Madison, WI 53704 at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Saturday.  Interment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens at 1:45p.m.

June’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Pastors of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the staff at Parkside Assistant Living Facility and the staff at Agrace Hospice for all the love and care that was provided and shown to June throughout her time in their care.
