June Ann (Legat) Chadwick, loving wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully on June 17, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. June died of natural causes due to many complicated health issues. It was time for her body to be at peace and her beautiful sole to be free in Heaven.
June was born on December 14, 1946 in Aurora, Illinois to John V. Legat and Gwendolyn (Sundberg) Legat. Her father was a veteran which allowed her family to travel and live in many cities across the United States. Eventually they settled in the Madison area where she graduated from East High School and finished her cosmetology license at The Accredited School of Beauty College in 1964.
On New Year’s Eve 1970, she met the love of her life, Richard E. Chadwick. They were married in a small ceremony on August 21, 1971. The short engagement resulted in a love story that spanned over 53 years. They shared 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. June loved her family and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world.
Those who were lucky enough to meet June knew she lived her life full of love and acceptance. June never judged and always welcomed anyone who needed extra love and support with open arms. June was the definition of unconditional love. She will forever be missed here on Earth, but with June’s strong faith; we know she is with God in Heaven watching over all of us.
June is survived by her husband Richard Chadwick, three daughters, Rebecca Chadwick, Heather Chadwick and Sarah (Chadwick) Soliman (spouse Ahmed Soliman). She is also survived by her grandchildren Shaun, Tyree, Ahmed, Zoe, Abdullah, Gannah, Aly and Adam; and her great grandchildren Kendall, Lorielle and Terrence. June had two wonderful brothers and sister in laws that also survived her in death; Steve Legat (Sharon Legat) and Timothy Legat (Terry Legat). She also loved her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by 2 of her grandsons, Terrence Chadwick and Gabriel Soliman.
