Julie Sehmer

STOUGHTON - Julie Ann (Voss) Sehmer, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly in Stoughton, Wisconsin on Sunday, May 20th at the age of 72. Julie Ann Voss was born July 14, 1945 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Melvin Voss and Elvira (Boll) Voss.

Julie grew up in Sheboygan Falls and Plymouth, Wisconsin. She met her future husband Ted (Theodore) at UW Stout in 1963, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, where they were both students. They were married August 27, 1966 in Plymouth. During their 51 years of marriage, they lived in Menomonie, WI; Waukegan, IL; Beaver Dam, WI; Oshkosh, WI; and Stoughton, WI.

Julie was the proud mother of Jeffrey (Julie), Verona, WI; Mark (Heidi), Stoughton, WI; Jonathan (Bridget), Atascadero, CA; and Mya, Stoughton, WI. She was the proud grandmother to Madison, Ethan, Campbell, Clare, Abagail, and MacKenzie. Julie was also proud step grandmother to Melanie and Corey.

She is also survived by her siblings, Roger (Patricia) Voss, Chino Hills, CA; Marilyn (Glen Sanford) Zane, Keizer, OR; and Ronald (Kathryn) Voss, Baraboo, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Julie enjoyed sewing and was an avid quilter. During her working career Julie was a home economics teacher and a social worker.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 700 County Road B., Stoughton. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service on Tuesday at the church. A luncheon at the church to follow.

A celebration of Julie's life will take place in late July at "Vossfest," a family reunion held this year in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
