Madison

Judith (Judy) O’Brasky Schreiber passed away on July 9, 2023 at Agrace in Madison, WI

Judy was born in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1943, the first child of Lee and Sidney O’Brasky.  She grew up with her brother Jim and graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1960. Judy attended college at Boston University, and got a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Bridgeport. Judy moved to Madison with her husband who was a new professor at the University, in 1968.

Judy grew to love Madison. She became passionately involved with the Jewish Community, holding multiple leadership positions. Judy took a small stationery and invitation business that she bought in 1977 and grew it into a phenomenal event planning business. Over the years, she made multiple people’s dream events and weddings come to life.

Judy had wonderful and rich friendships, and especially loved to go out with her girlfriends on Friday nights. Judy lived life on her own terms. She was the life of the party, full of laughter and love. She was a tremendously loving daughter, mother, friend, and sister. She was incredibly genuine, honest, and passionate about all that she loved.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Margaret Schreiber (Dave Sitz), Beth Schreiber (Russell Kahn), granddaughters Julia Sitz, Jessie and Ava Kahn, and her brother, Jim O’Brasky (Talia).

A funeral for Judy will occur at 10 am on July 11, 2023 at Beit Olamim Cemetery, (7302 Mineral Point Road).
