Joyce A. Knudson
Joyce A. Knudson, age 94, departed this vale of tears and went home to her Lord on March 3, 2014. Joyce was born on July 17, 1919 in Fennimore, Wis., the daughter of William and Mary (Fischer) Riddiough.
On Aug. 12, 1939 she was united in marriage to Elwood A. Knudson.Together they operated the Golden Valley Cheese Factory in Osseo, Wis. for several years before moving to West Concord, Minn.In 1951, they returned to Fennimore to be near her parents, who had retired. Fennimore was home for the next 32 years. In 1983, they moved to the Sun Prairie area to be near their children.Joyce was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. She served on many committees in the church, being a member of the Rebecca Circle at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. Joyce loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting, and reading and studying the Bible.
Joyce is survived by her children: Jean Speaker (Sarona, Wis.), Karol Cauffman (Avondale, Ariz.), Sharon (Jeff) Cooper (Sparks, Nev.), Peter (Natalie) Knudson (Madison, Wis.), Perry (Carrie) Knudson (Canton, Ill.), David (Nicki) Knudson (Lake In the Hills, Ill.), along with 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many more great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Ruby Jermstad (Osseo, Wis.), sister-in-law Agnes Knudson (Mineral Point), and brother-in-law Robert (Lois) Knudson (Mineral Point).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood A. Knudson, her parents, sisters Gladys Strahl and Wilma Moon, her daughter Kae Evans, granddaughter Zabrine Hugill, son-in-law Warren Speaker, and son-in-law George Cauffman.
Funeral service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10. Memorial service will be held In July at Castle Rock Lutheran Church Cemetery.
