In loving memory and sadness we announce our mom Joyce Ann Howe passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026 at Home Again Assisted Living in Cambridge.
Born February 2nd, 1930 to Eliza and Albert Lehmann and lived a blessed long life. Mom was raised on a farm, graduated from Cambridge High School and married Henry Howe fresh out of the Navy October 4th, 1947. Our dad, grandpa passed away in 2002. They farmed for many years and mom was a terrific homemaker. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Mom was a fabulous cook and filled the Holidays with abundance of food and tons of Christmas cookies. She loved to decorate her home with strings of cheerful lights she so enjoyed and kept up as long as possible. Mom was a joyful person who met you with a welcoming smile. She loved ice cream and always had it on hand to share with family and friends.
Mom is survived by her three children and their families. Allen (Cathy) Howe, Joyce Ann Gausmann, Penny (Dick) Marten. Grandma to Dusty (Lindsey) Howe, John (Melissa) Gausmannn, Jaimie (Danika) Gausmann, Adriane (Alec) Rippberger, Lisa Marten And Kelsey (Henry) Marten. Great Grandma to Ingrid and Mabel Rippberger (Adriane) and Henry Howe (Dusty) and Hank Marten (Lisa) with so much love. Joyce was loved and cherished as an Auntie by her many nieces and nephews. Also our hearts go to our extended family of Leo Sweet, Bob and Leon. We will all miss her so very much.
A special thank you to Gary Gausmann, and to the staff at Home Again for their care with compassion and smiles and helping ways.
Joyce's funeral will be at 3:00 PM on Friday June 19, 2026, at DEERFIELD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 S. Main St. Deerfield with Rev Jennifer Kuhnert presiding.
