Joseph T. Weyrough, age 98, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016. Joe was born to Theodore and Katherine (Linck) Weyrough on 12, 1917 in Burlington, WI. He graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On August 6, 1942, he was united in marriage to Margaret Kerkman. He served during WWII as Commander of the U.S.S. Montpelier Cruiser in the Pacific from 1941-1946.
After various jobs, Joe and Marge settled in Madison where he worked for Oscar Mayer as plant manager until his retirement in 1979.
He and Marge enjoyed many years of traveling together and spending winters in Arizona playing golf.
Joe is survived by his daughters Barbara (Herbert) Hansen of Lodi and Kathryn (Richard) Aikins of Belgium, WI; son John (Pam) Weyrough of Monona, IA; five grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marge.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 11, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6301 344th Ave., New Munster, WI 53152 with a burial of cremains to follow in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Immediately following burial services, friends and family may gather at Chances Restaurant, 205 W. Main St., Rochester, WI 53167.
