Joseph Kuehn

March 18, 1939 — May 22, 2012

Dane - Joseph Kuehn, age 73, died on Tues. May 22, 2012 at his home in Dane of an apparent heart attack. He was born on March 18, 1939 in Martinsville to Lawrence and Cecelia (Koch) Kuehn. Joe married Jane Wipperfurth on May 14, 1963 and they recently celebrated their 49th anniversary. He was employed for 16 years at Consolidated Freight, ten years with the Dane County Hwy. Department and for ten years in his own landscape business. Joe enjoyed many activities including; playing cards, spending time at Crystal Lake, watching the Badgers and drinking a few beers. He was very proud of his membership as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and St Olaf's Catholic Church in DeForest.
Survivors include his wife Jane and three daughters; Lois (Bill) Ripp, Louise (Don) Brown and Cheryl Ziegler (friend Scott); ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother Wilfred (Diane) Kuehn and a sister Mary Jane (Dave) Ellickson. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jamie and Justin Ziegler and many relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. May 26, 2012 at 11 :00 a.m. at St Olaf's Catholic Church, 623 Jefferson St. in DeForest, Rev Robert Butz will officiate. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Friday May 25, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Friends may also call at the church on Sat. from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
He will always be remembered for helping anyone and always had something funny to say.
In lieu of flowers the family will establish a memorial at a later time.
