Joseph G. Kalscheur Jr., age 93, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025. Joe was born on 8-16-1931 to Joseph Sr. and Johanna Kalscheur in Ashton, WI where he lived his entire life. He graduated in 1949 from Middleton High School. On September 6, 1955, he married the love of his life, Loretta Laufenberg. Together they continued farming on the Kalscheur homestead and raised their family.

Joe was a dedicated dairy farmer who took pride in his top producing herd and family farm. He was a kind and patient father who mentored many young men over the years who helped on the farm as well as his children. He farmed until he retired and then worked at UW Provisions which he also loved. He was a life long member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ashton, WI and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe also loved baseball, fishing, bowling, traveling, playing cards and relaxing at the cottage on Lake Wisconsin with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Mike (Nanette) Kalscheur, Rick (Barb) Kalscheur, Jean (Daryll) Manthe, Judy Kalscheur, Diane (Dale) Helt, Carol (Don) Statz and Dan Kalscheur (friend Jennifer Kaminski). Joe was a proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, Kami Dodge, Jesse and Nick Kalscheur, Tina Ladwig, Joe Manthe, Hayden Sprysl, Devin, Derek and Dean Helt, Brett and Payton Statz, Val Ash, Nicole Scheel, and Dylan Kalscheur. He also leaves behind 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He is also survived by his siblings Sister Johanna Kalscheur, Beatrice (Bea) Statz, Mary Lou Schmitt and Dorie French. Additional survivors include his in-laws Joanie Kalscheur, Roman (Bud) Statz, Marion Hellenbrand, Dorothy Statz, Henry Laufenberg, Margaret (Ken) Bernards, Dick Weiss and Ron (Jean) Laufenberg.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta, an infant son, Joseph, his parents Joseph Sr. and Johanna Kalscheur, his in-laws, Ted and Margaret Laufenberg, and his siblings, Don Kalscheur, Alberta Ripp. His siblings in law: Roman Schmitt, Wally Ripp, Shirley A. Laufenberg, Dave Statz, Delmer Hellenbrand, Alice Weiss and Shirley C. Laufenberg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15,2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St Peter’s Catholic Church 7121 County Trunk K Middleton. Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home on Monday, July 14 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
