Jon Dresser

Madison: Jon R. Dresser, age 74, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born in Madison October 20, 1940. Jon retired in 1998 after a 30+ year career in food safety with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Jon was proud to have served in the US Army with the 249th Engineer Battalion in Germany and France from 1958-1961.
He is survived by the wife he loved dearly, Phyllis (Esch) Dresser, two sons he was very proud of; Russell of Avon, Colorado, Darren and daughter in law Ellen Powers; and granddaughter Nicole of Madison, and nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Fern (Ross) Dresser; brother Joseph, sister Mary, and a niece Karen.
There will be a visitation from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at ST MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison WI 53711, and also from 10-11am on Thursday, October 30, 2014, followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a memorial fund that is being established by his family.
Having received excellent health care from the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, physicians, surgeons, nurses, and medical students, Jon would like to thank them for their continuing dedication to finding causes and cures for his illness.
