Jon Derge

Jon Philip Derge of Madison, Wis., left this life too soon on Feb. 4, 2016. He was born on July 27, 1955, in Madison, Wis., to Glen and Eleanor Derge of Middleton, Wis. In 1976, he married Mary (Missy) Marth. They had a daughter, Andrea, who was born in October 1980, and a son, Max, who was born in August 1989. Jon was preceded in death by his mother in 2010. He is survived by his father; his children Andrea (Dan) Marlow and Max Derge; four grandchildren, Jesse, Sam, Leia and Nathan Marlow; his sisters, Debbie (Dan and son Dan jr.)Upp, Heidi Noble and brother, Bruce (Brenda and son Will) Derge. Anyone who knew Jon knew he was very intelligent, inquisitive, funny and fun to be with. He loved laughing and he loved his whole family, even if it was hard for him to express that sometimes. He was a man of faith. He loved music, art, reading and was an accomplished chef. He will be missed. The family will schedule a memorial service for Jon in the spring.
