John Stuessy

Madison- John Robert Stuessy passed away far too soon on March 18, 2014. He was born to Robert Stuessy and Sharon (Ehredt) Stuessy on October 17, 1990 in Madison, WI. He was a 2009 high school graduate from Madison Memorial. He went on to UW-Madison where he graduated in 2013 with majors in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. John loved long distance running and Ultimate Frisbee (2009 High School State champions). Since high school, John was a dedicated and committed worker at Oakwood Nursing home.
He enjoyed bicycling for his primary mode of transportation around Madison as well as playing cards and watching and discussing movies. He was an avid reader. John was a very humble, kind-hearted, meticulous and well-organized, hard-working young man. He enjoyed family get-togethers. He loved the outdoors, especially the forests of northern Wisconsin. John was athletically gifted, but enjoyed the skill and the challenge of the sport above the competition. He enjoyed solving complicated mathematical and computer problems. Starting in grade school, he had a soft heart for those who were oppressed or disadvantaged, and sought to support them.
Along with his loving parents, Robert and Sharon, John is survived by his sister Gina Stuessy (and partner Ben West); grandmother Elsie Ehredt, aunts and uncles Rhonda (Stuessy) and Jim Volk, Dan and Sandy Ehredt, Kathryn (Ehredt) and John Jorgensen; William Ehredt, and Ronald and Rebecca Ehredt; his cousins Deb (Bob) Liljegren, Daniel (Jamie) Ehredt, Daniel Ehredt Rhoads, Sandra Jorgensen, David Jorgensen, Erik Jorgensen, Gregory (Christine) Ehredt, Shandon Ehredt, Salena Ehredt (Moises) Gonzalez, Ryan Ehredt and Jessica Ehredt, and many other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his by grandparents Robert (2002) and Viola (2011) Stuessy and Melvin M. Ehredt (1981).
A celebration of John's life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6101 University Ave., Madison, WI. on Monday March 24, 2014. Visitation will be at 10am with a service starting at 11am.
