John Steven Jaeschke, 56, of Middleton, passed away on April 9, 2026. Born on December 7, 1969, John was a man defined by his warmth, his quick wit, and a genuine kindness that he shared with everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of music, service, and deep devotion to his family and friends.
A gifted musician, John’s passion for performance began at Middleton High School, where he excelled in Band, Orchestra, and Choir. Throughout his youth, John was buoyed by the unwavering support of his family. His parents, Karen and John, and his grandparents, Inga and Walter Jaeschke and Helen and Jack Jeske, were his most dedicated supporters. They rarely missed a concert, taking immense pride in his musical achievements and his active engagement in the community.
A cherished highlight was John performing the Richard Strauss Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, accompanied on piano by his brother, Jeff—a memory the brothers held dear throughout their lives. John also shared his talents as a French horn player with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) and achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to the dedication and leadership he carried into adulthood.
John continued his education at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he pursued a French Horn Performance Major and earned a degree in Marketing. His collegiate years were defined by extraordinary musical milestones, including touring internationally with the renowned Singing Statesmen. For one special year, John and his brother Jeff sang in the ensemble together—a profound experience that strengthened their bond and remained a point of pride for both. During his time with the Statesmen, John also performed in the Intercollegiate Big Sing alongside choruses from Harvard, Yale, and Morehouse. Additionally, he took great pride in performing and supporting the Viennese Ball as a vital bridge for community outreach through the arts.
Beyond his professional and musical life, John found great joy in the many special travels he shared with his family. These trips created a lifetime of memories, strengthening the bonds he held so dear.
Professionally, John was a creative and collaborative leader in marketing, contributing his talents to organizations such as Gartner. Most recently, he served as a Manager with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Dane County, where his work embodied his deep-seated commitment to community service.
John’s heart was also home to his beloved rescued collie, Bosko, who brought him immense joy and companionship. Bosko is now transitioning to a new family who will continue to care for him with the same affection John gave so freely.
John is survived by his loving mother, Karen Jaeschke; his brother, Jeff Jaeschke; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Mykala, Jay, Jhean-Luc, and Natasha. He was preceded in death by his father, John Jaeschke, and his grandparents.
