John Mccreery

Madison- John L. McCreery, age 80, passed away of a sudden illiness on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg.

John was born on May 9, 1934 in Fond du Lac to Mac and Mary McCreery. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where he met the love of his life, Donna Brull. They were united in marriage in Two Rivers, Wis in 1955. He served in the Army as a commanding officer in the 5th Missile Battalion in Spring Valley, NY and he retired his commission as 1st Lieutenant in 1960. John retired from Glaxo Smithkline as a district manager of pharmaceutical sales.

John enjoyed international travel, annual family vacations and spending time with his family at the lake house. He was a voracious reader and physical fitness enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family pets. John loved and enjoyed volunteering his time at Luke House and serving his parish, Blessed Sacrament.

John is survived by his wife, Donna; siblings, Patrick (Sandy) and Judy Meister; daughters, Kaye (Bill) Kruchten and Lauren Crittenden; grandchildren, Aaron Kruchten, Douglas (Keshia) Kruchten, Matthew Crittenden, Charlie Guevara and great granddaughter, Mercedies Kruchten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at BLESSED SACRAMENT ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2115 Rowley Ave., Madison, on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to Luke House or Agrace HospiceCare.

John was a shining example of kindness and generosity and an eternal optimist. His joy in life was his family and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
