Now hear this! Everyone alive will die, and at age 91, John "Captain" Lohr, Jr. died peacefully at Four Winds Manor in Verona on May 27, 2017. Among the many jobs he held, he was a custodian for the Madison school district for 35+ years. Captain loved auto racing and general shenanigans of all sorts throughout his life. He was very proud of his naval service to our country during WWII (Pacific theater), and we will always be grateful for his sacrifice and courage.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Mim" Lohr. He is survived by his daughter Janice (Jeff) Faust, son John (Rachael) Lohr, grandchildren Jamie (Jennifer) Faust, Jennifer (Jamie) Horsfall, Dan (Molly) Lohr, Jesse (Sharon) Faust, life-time friends Jim Klahr, Scott "Zeke" Zingg, Todd (Barb) Endres, Tom and Lana Esch and too many more friends to name.
According to his wishes, there will be no services; there will be a party to celebrate his life at a later date. The family thanks the staff of Four Winds Manor for their loving and compassionate care in helping our Captain to the end of his journey.
