Madison - John Robert  Johnson, age 69, passed away January 27, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. He was born May 6, 1941 in Freeport, Illinois to Herbert E. and Paschal M. Johnson (Flannery).  Bob grew up in Madison, graduated from Central High School, worked at the Wisconsin Air National Guard, Satterfield Electronics, co-owned and operated Print & Mail Advertising for 35 years and was part time employee of Permar  Security. Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara (Arnett), sons  Shawn R. (Lori) and Tim Johnson; daughters Lisa (David) Holewinski and Pam Johnson; brother William (Marilyn) Johnson; sister Margaret (Paul) Schaub, aunt Joan Flannery; sister-in-law Denise (Don) Thorpe; brother-in-law Steven Arnett; granddaughters Gabrielle Johnson and Evelyn Holewinski; and many nieces and nephews. A devoted husband and family man, he involved himself in his children's activities including bowling, softball, baseball,  volleyball, and scouting.  He was a man of strong faith and a charter member of Heritage Congregational Church where he actively participated for many years. Bob's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the special care and compassion of the folks at Select Specialty Hospital during his last days. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. at HERITAGE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 3102 Prairie Rd, Madison.  A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Bob's name.
