WAUNAKEE-Who would have thought a prom date would have turned into a lifelong marriage on June 14, 1980. John started his new life with Pamela in Sparta after accepting a job with Golden Guernsey Dairy. He retired from Foremost Farms after 24 years. He still wanted to pursue a lifelong passion in Law, and at the age of 47, he gave the government a chance. He graduated top honors from the academy in Georgia and started his career as a Customs Border Patrol officer. Homeland Security is what John was meant to do. After several years in the port of Milwaukee where he worked, he climbed up to supervisor and joined the Joint Terrorist Taskforce with the FBI. In 2012, John was diagnosed with lung cancer, but that would not stop him. He was a fighter. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and his son, and snuggling with Nacho, his dog.
He will be missed by his wife, Pam (Goryl); daughter, Kala and son, Dustin along with his mother, Elaine (nee Piotrowski) Hardy and father, the late Arthur Hardy; brother, Rick (Rose) Hardy; nephew, David Hardy; sister, Judi (Roger) Kent; nephews, Danny and Collin; and niece, Courtney; and sisters-in- law, Doreen Goryl and Marcy (Goryl) Janky and children. You will be in our hearts forever and we will always love you.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Trent Thompson, Dr. Arbaje and his staff for their compassion, Dr. Kim at Turville Bay, and the Agrace facility who treated him as family and not just as a patient. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
