Finch, John L.
Stoughton - John L. Finch, age 68, passed away at Meriter Hospital on Sunday, March 11, 2012. He was born in Elgin, Illinois on December 10, 1943, the son of Jesse and Josephine (Bagdon) Finch. He was united in marriage to Alice Watzke. John worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Dane County for 25 years, retiring in August of 2000. While a deputy, he started the Dane County Deputy Sheriff's Association Cops for Kids program. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice; and his 2 children, Michelle (Tony Weise) Finch, and Roger (Luella Schmidt) Finch. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Roger and Pearl Watzke; and aunt and uncle, Martha & Henry Zeno. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in McFarland, with Monsignor Gerard Healy officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of service. Special thanks to the staff at Meriter Hospital.
