Johanna Weum

Stoughton- Johanna Marie Norgaren Erdahl Weum, age 96, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on her grandparents farm in Pleasant Springs on July 4, 1917, the daughter of George and Gilma (Dahle) Erdahl. On June 2, 1939 Marie married Joseph Weum in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Orfordville area for 50 years. Marie enjoyed bowling and attending the State Bowling Tournaments, and spending time in Northern WI at the cottage on Lake Solberg. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed the Lutefisk dinners. Marie is survived by her son, Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; two brothers, Harvey (Doris) and Peter (Valborg) Erdahl; two sisters, Irene (Lawrence) Davis and Georgene (Alfred) Quam. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 County Road B, Stoughton, with Reverend Paula Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, in the church fellowship hall, immediately following the burial. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at church. The family wishes to thank Wanda and the staff of Skaalen, and Dr. Gold, for their excellent care of Marie.
