Joanne "Jo" Volla

Utica – T. Joanne “Jo” Volla, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 1, 2025, at her home. She was born March 17, 1941, in Stoughton to the late Russell and Thelma (Storlid) Jacobson. Jo went to a one room school named Prairie Queen and was a 1959 graduate of Cambridge High School. She was united in marriage to Atwell Volla Jr. on October 31, 1959. She worked at Madison Newspapers before becoming a mother and homemaker, and after that she worked at Cambridge Jewelry Store and Road Star Motel. Jo enjoyed spending time with her family at the Bluegill Hilton in Winter, WI where she created many fond memories and had many good times. She also loved to play cards with her friends and bowled for many years for Volla Plumbing.
Jo is survived by her husband Jr.; 3 children: Lynn (Scott) Doolittle, Dan Volla and Tara (Dusty Fletcher) Matusiewicz; grandchildren Joshua (Kayla) Doolittle, Jenafer Doolittle, Jordan Doolittle, Chalsie (Nate) Heritage, Alissa (TJ) Luchsinger: great grandchildren Lilly Kegler, Ragnar Luchsinger, Corey Doolittle; her sister Kristy (Les) Omit; sister-in-law Sharon Jacobson, brother-in-law, Gene Heise; she is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lisa Halverson, siblings Russell (Judy) Jacobson Jr., Merlin (Pat) Jacobson, Roger Jacobson and Lois Heise. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday June 6, 2025, at WEST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1911 Koshkonong Rd. Stoughton with Rev. Eric Bakken presiding. Burial will follow at West Koshkonong Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the funeral at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to West Koshkonong Lutheran Church.
