JoAnn Midthun

October 12, 1945 — August 7, 2008

Deerfield- JoAnn Midthun, age 62, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at HospiceCare Inc. in Fitchburg.  She was born on October 12, 1945, the sixth of nine children, to Theodore and Marie (Aers) Midthun.  JoAnn graduated from Deerfield High School and attended MATC Business College.  She worked as a computer programmer for Ed Phillips & Sons for many years.  JoAnn loved Pomeranian dogs, collecting dolls, playing cards, being outside, gardening and being with family and friends.  She was a former volunteer for Independent Living and enjoyed taking care of people.  JoAnn was a die-hard member of the euchre club at the Deerfield Community Center.  She is survived by her siblings, John (Shirley) of Washburn, Betty (Vern) Gulseth of McFarland, Larry (Roberta) of Madison, Mary Lou (Eugene) Lund of Deerfield, Gloria (Henry) Horstmann of Oregon, Linda (Richard) Bongard of Madison and Theodore (Lynn) of Raleigh, NC; 27 nieces and nephews; 40 great nieces and nephews; many relatives; and good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Thomas.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home, 201 Bue Street, Deerfield.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2008 at Deerfield Lutheran Church, 206 S. Main Street, Deerfield, with the Rev. Larry Sexe officiating.  Burial will follow in West Koshkonong Cemetery.  A special thank you to Claire and the staff of the Community Living Alliance.  JoAnn will be deeply missed by her family, friends and her loving pets.  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.  1 Cor 13:13
