Joan Statz

Joan M. (Wipperfurth) Statz age 76 of Waunakee/Westport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at UW Hospital on April 17, 2014.

She was born on November 3, 1937 in Waunakee to Anthony & Christine Wipperfurth. She married Harold Statz on February 11, 1958. Joan cleaned houses for many years and also helped her daughter in a furniture restoration business. She truly enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, especially watching Clay Matthews, the UW Marching band, Las Vegas trips and their cabin in Necedah, WI. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Survivors include her 5 daughters Christine (Ted) Maier, Sue (Randy) Manthe, Cindy (Brian) Taylor, Connie Riddle and Jackie Statz, 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren , her 2 sisters Sr. Mary Jane Wipperfurth, Lorraine Schlimgen, and 2 brothers Russell (Kay) Wipperfurth, & LeRoy (Margie) Wipperfurth and many nieces and nephews. She is in preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2008, her parents, Anthony & Christine, her brother Anthony (Toky) Wipperfurth , a son-in-law Jeffery Riddle, her brother in law, Paul Schlimgen and sister in law, Betty Wipperfurth.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church 209 South St. Waunakee. Friends may call on Monday, April 21 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Winn- Cress Funeral Home 5785 Hwy Q in Waunakee. Friends may also call on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic cemetery in Westport at 2 p.m. on Tues.

The family would like to thank the UW Hospital Neurology team and Sienna Crest Assisted Living for their outstanding care of our mother. Mom, we will miss you and Thank you for the wonderful memories of our Florida Trip in March this year. We love you and give dad big hugs from all of us.
