Joan Robinson

Joan Elizabeth Kress Robinson died peacefully on September 24, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born April 8, 1928 to Charles and Amy Kress in St. Paul, MN. Spending most of her young life growing up in Wauwatosa Wisconsin she graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Economics. While there she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, was chosen as one of the "Badger Beauties" homecoming court and met her future husband.

She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Those of us that were a part of her life in any of these relationships were truly blessed. It is rare in life to meet someone who impacts every person they meet, whether for just one moment or for a lifetime. People were naturally drawn to her as she was to them.

With friends, Joan started "Conventions Plus Tours" and enjoyed the opportunities that this gave her for 32 years. It was through this company that she was able to travel extensively and build new friendships.

Joan spent much of her time with friends; she was a member of P.E.O. and volunteered at Attic Angels, Meriter Hospital and The Ephraim Historical Society.

Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family and it was her desire to gather them together and build family memories. Joan loved to spend time in Door County where she had a vacation home. She spent her summers there and often brought her family and friends to share the treasures of God's beauty with her.

We are blessed as a family and thankful to have had her guidance, patience and ever lasting love. Her Christian faith carried her through many difficulties in life. As she is welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, we know she will watch over us and prepare a place for us when we join her in heaven.

A Memorial Celebration of Joan's life will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 6:30 pm, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Segoe Rd, Madison, WI 53705. Joan would like memorials sent to: U.W. Carbone Cancer Center and Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin (GRRoW).
