Joan Hamill

Fitchburg - Joan Marie Hamill (nee Van Natta), age 65, passed peacefully at home in her sleep on January 30, 2016. Joan was born on May 4, 1950 in Platteville, WI to Leonard and Estelle (Simmons) Van Natta. Joan had worked for many years at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI and later received her LPN from Highland Community College. She also worked many years as a home care nurse. She is survived by loving husband, John "Jack" Hamill; siblings, Ron (Nancy) Van Natta and Ruth (Van Natta) Adams; sons, Brent (Brenda) Brayko and their children, (Anna and Alec), Todd (Marcy) Brayko and their children, (Riley and Jane), and Ryan Brayko; step-children, Jennifer Hamill, Tom (Chris) Hamill, Eric Hamill, Keri Hamill. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Richard Van Natta; her first husband, David Brayko and second husband, Walter Pawlowski. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Green County Humane Society or the UW Carbone Cancer Center, UW-Madison.
