Jill Hanger

MADISON - Jill M Hanger, age 48, of Fennimore, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015. She died surrounded by family and friends after a brief struggle with cancer at the UW Hospital in Madison.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St John's Catholic Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie Du Chien, WI with Rev James Weighner officiating. Graveside services will be at the Cassville Cemetery in Cassville, WI. Friends may call at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
She was born on September 8, 1966 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of George and Donna (Martin) Hanger.
Jill graduated from Cuba City High School, and Southwest Tech in Fennimore, with a degree in Cosmetology and Child Care Development. Jill operated an in home day care for many years in Fennimore where she was a second mother to the children in her care, and was called "Momma Jilly" by some. She had a passion for nurturing children and loving her family unconditionally especially her niece and nephews. Jill was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed her word-search puzzle books, traveling, and getting together with friends and family.
Survivors include two sisters, Lisa (Ricky) Halverson of Cassville, WI, and Keri Hanger of Middleton, WI; a brother Kevin (Sue) Hanger of Prairie Du Chien, WI; a niece Andrea (Michael Downs) Hanger; five nephews, Ryan and Adam Halverson, Justin, Brian and Brandon Hanger; and a great niece Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Mark Hanger.
